Tropical Storm Sendong hits Northern Mindanao Dec. 16 triggering a flash flood that killed more than 500 people in Cagayan de Oro and neighboring towns. At around 2:00 am, the city's major rivers overflowed and rose up to 11 feet in some areas. Around 20,000 people have been displaced to dozens of evacuation centers while service men and private groups continue relief operations. Victims were mostly from Barangays Consolacion, Macasandig, Macanhan, Kauswagan, Carmen, Canitoan, Iponan, and Balulang. (Photos by Haiko B. Magtrayo)
