First of all, nothing is better than listening and rocking together with the bands at the main lane during Batong Bitoon sessions. Live! In front of the chapel! Kind of makes sense to convert the chapel entrance into a cozy little backstage, doesn’t it? Next thing you know, angels will be head-banging and holding on to their very own celestial electric guitars.
Next, the CineMagis at the soccer field. Everybody just loves to warm the grass, talk to their heart’s content, and watch their favorite home movies at the same time. And oh, they also love to leave their trash afterward. “Nurture Nature” huh? Bah! Everybody’s absolutely inspired by nature that they’re ignoring the people who are picking up their garbage for them. It totally defeats the purpose.
And of course, I won’t fail to mention the field demo by the grade school pupils. They wave stars, batons, and pom-poms like there’s no tomorrow. And who’s to blame if they get sun burnt? Or worse – skin cancer? Nope, nobody, because it totally makes sense to see them wave those props in the air under the scorching heat of the sun. IT’S CUTE! Maddeningly cute!
Lastly, the ever-unforgettable Dance Party! Why unforgettable, you ask? Because the spectators seemed to have missed the point! Well, they didn't call it a DANCE party for nothing. It seemed to have transformed into a stand-and-stare-at-the-dancers-on-the-platform party. Yes. Evolve, indeed.
XU Days are done, prelims are coming up, and it’s almost Christmas! The lights all around XU are shining in quiet anticipation. Don’t forget to respect the Church (Simbang Gabi, anyone?), dance during dance parties, and pick up your trash for hope to make the most of the festive Holiday season!
Merry Cora Christmas!
